Maddox has an official hospital title - 'Cardiac Kid'. Apparently this is the name given to all the kids who have had heart surgery. We hear this term a lot when things are explained to us.
At weigh-in last night Maddox topped 6 pounds! As we previously reported the OT works with us each day to help Maddox move to bottle feeding only. Today Luke and I made progress, the OT is letting us feed him without supervision tonight! His eating schedule was also changed today, to a more 'normal' schedule that would be followed at home. The nurses are still making us demonstrate our proficiency with the NG tube until Maddox graduates to bottle feeding only. Breathing treatments have been reduced from every four hours to every eight. Medications also continue to be reduced daily.
Still no official discharge date but we know the end is in sight!

What great photos! Good work on the feedings too. You guys will do everything perfectly. Continue to trust in yourselves. You are both wonderful! I'm chompin' at the bit to meet him... :)
