Friday Morning

Maddox had a fairly eventful night. It was probably a good thing that he stayed on the PICU floor last night.

He was overly cranky and his blood oxygen levels dropped a little. They did a chest x-ray and noticed there was some fluid around his right lung. They increased the diuretic and it has helped. The new x-ray from this morning showed that it improved from last night.

While we were in there this morning, he got cranky and his blood oxygen levels dropped again. They put him on some more oxygen and gave him some meds to calm him down and increase blood flow.

The doctor's said that this is somewhat not uncommon and that he would be fine.

Amy and I were hoping to get him out of the PICU today, but they informed us that they will keep him for observation overnight again.

The meds that they are considering for him to take would be something that Amy and I could give him once we take him home. There is still a reasonable chance that it still could happen sometime next week.

Today is going to be very nerve-racking and hard considering this is the first setback he has had. Whenever we find out more information, we will let all of you know.

Your Friends,

Luke, Amy, and Maddox
