Well...we finally got some lingering questioned answered about "why" all of this happened.
It appears that Maddox got some sort of infection in his lungs sometime last week. They are in the process of narrowing down what type of infection it is. They have had him on antibiotics to treat a large array of infections. Once they identify what kind it is, they can concentrate on it with the appropriate antibiotic.
They did rule out the possibility that there was a problem with the heart. The found no evidence to suspect that there was any blockage or "issues" with the reconstructed heart. That was good to hear, b/c we really did not want them to have operate again.
The Doctor also said that he thinks that over the last 24 to 48 hours, Maddox has plateaued off and started to get better. His goal for the day is to try to ween him off of some of the machines and get him working on his on.
They just started feeding him a few minutes ago. Albeit, very small doses, but it is still food. Hopefully, he will tolerate that and we can be feeding him from a bottle real soon.
Please continue to pray for him, especially for him to progress and for the infection to go away.

Good morning, I am so glad they have found the problem, now they can go to work on fixing it. God has been good, many problems but many answers. Praying for you still, sending your updates to all the prayerteams on my list. Marilyn
