Saturday Evening

It has been an interesting day. Maddox had to have a chest tube put back in to drain the fluid off of his lungs. It worked! The last x-ray showed clear lungs. He is breathing with a breathing machine. They have to keep him sedated so he will breath with the machine instead of fighting it. This is best because he feels no pain. He has been poked and prodded so much, the little guy has marks all over him.

Maddox has not been urinating as much as they want him to, compared to the amount of fluids they have pumped into him. The doctor is going to put a catheter in to help flush his kidneys and get the extra fluids out. His little belly is expanding with all the fluids so this will help.

They finally got a line in below his collar bone but have not been successful at getting it to run the correct way. Both times, the line has run the path toward his neck instead of his heart. The doctor is planning to try again within the hour.

The best news is that Maddox is not feeling all the work that has been done on him. He is resting comfortably, not a care in the world.

Thank you for your prayers.
