Hey everybody,
Sorry that we have not posted anything today. The Internet would not work at the hospital for some reason. We have to leave Maddox from 6:30 until 8:00pm each night for the nurse shift change. We chose a place for dinner that offers free wireless, so we just wanted to drop a quick line about our boys health.
They removed Maddox' breathing tube today while Amy and I were at lunch. He seems to be handling the transition well. This is excellent news, and the Doctor's seemed pretty excited about the fact that he was well enough to do this.
He has also been sucking on his pacifier like it is his job. That is good b/c it should mean he will have an easier time readjusting to bottle feeding.
Maddox got to move to the back room of the PICU today~ this is one step closer to being moved to a room on the floor with us! He is officially not one of the sickest kids in the PICU!
Maddox had some visitors today, and he's got some family coming in the morning as well.
Please continue to pray that he transitions well to being off of the breathing tube and that he breathes well on his own.
Almost forgot ~ The EEG & MRI showed no seizure activity. Maddox has a condition that some babies have causing their limbs to jerk when they sleep (there is an offical name but I don't remember it. The neurologist was not concerned at all, he said this would cause no harm.
Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, and concerns.
Your Friends,
Amy, Luke, and Maddox
