Well...Maddie had a really rough night. Amy came back to the hospital to be with him from around 2:30 am to 5 am.
His IV line infiltrated and that prevented the medicine and nutrients from getting to where they needed to go. That made him more cranky, and when he gets cranky, things don't go right for him.
They had troubles getting another IV line in him. They finally got one in him in his foot. They added another one in his head this morning.
They put him back on a breathing machine with the breathing tube.
They have him on numerous medications to help get rid of the fluid and keep him knocked out so he feels no pain.
They are currently putting in a line that will help them draw blood more easily so they do not have to poke him so much. They are having a hard time doing this, and we are in the waiting room trying to cope until we get back there.
We are hoping to get an in depth explanation soon. As soon as we hear something, we will let all of you know.
Please pray for our little boy and the staff here at Duke so that they can make him better.
