Hello, hello, hello,
Just wanted to bring everyone up to speed about my homeboy Maddie. The Doctor only wanted Maddox to bottle feed 3 times with tube feeding in between. Well...yesterday, he bottle fed at 3, 6, 9 and midnight. He also took a bottle at 9 this morning as well. Dr. Tripp feels that he is improving so well that she canceled his echo-cardiogram for today because she did not feel it was necessary. There is also some chatter from the doctors that there is a possibility that his condition is not quite as severe as they originally thought. There might be one or more of the misplaced veins actually delivering some oxygen to the bad side of the heart. That means that this buys us some time to put some weight on him so he will be better prepared for his surgery. It also might mean that if he gets to where he can eat on his own, he could come home with his mommy and daddy before he has to go to Duke. Of course, alot of this is just speculation, but it could become a reality.
Amy and I realize that the amount of people that are praying for Maddox is growing exponentially, and we appreciate it immensly. We are enjoying our time with him and cannot wait until he is well enough to come home with us and grow.
We will have more pictures up soon. The power cord to our other laptop that we download the pictures died, but it should arrive in the mail today or tomorrow. E-mails to view the album will be sent out as soon as we get them downloaded.
By the way, tomorrow is Amy's birthday. If any of you have the time, please e-mail her and wish her well.
Y'all, thanks for everything. Amy and I are very appreciative.
Your friends,
Luke, Amy, and baby Maddox
