Maddie has not had a good day. Dr. Boris told us he looked more like a baby with congestive heart failure today. His oxygen levels were low today and he had to have a blood transfusion. The small amount of blood is supposed to help him have a better oxygen flow throughout his body. Maddie also had to have an IV added for the increase in medications. They plan another echo-cardiogram to try to better understand what is going on with his heart.
The doctors are still telling us that Maddie will be fine after the surgery. The three heart doctors tell us many different things each day but they do agree that Maddie's condition is fixable and he will be healthy.
Days like today make us realize that he will have to go to Duke sooner than later for his surgery.
Maddie is just like any other human being because he has his good days and his bad days. He had a day similar to this last Sunday, but then he rattled off 5 good days after that. Hopefully he can do something like that tomorrow.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we try and make it through this tough time and the rest of the day.

Hey Amy, Luke, and Maddux! Just got back home and caught up on your postings about Maddux. Thanks for keeping us all up to date on his progress. He is such a stud in the pictures! I can't wait to see him myself sometime soon. I've been keeping you all in my prayers as I'm sure it's been tough on all your family. But I know Maddux is a tough little guy and will fight thru all these bumps in the road. Please let me know if I can do ANYTHING at all to help you guys out. Love you guys.
